Sabrina Goddard Named ASC Player of the Week

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior center Sabrina Goddard was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.

Goddard, a native of Stroud, Okla., averaged 23.5 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks over two conference games, including an 82-79 victory against Hardin-Simmons in which she went for a career-high 39 points. It was the most points scored in the conference since February 14, 2009, when Concordia Texas’ Kassandra Bills went for 44. Goddard hit 13 of 23 shots from the floor and knocked down 13 of 15 free throws in the performance against the Cowgirls. In a loss to McMurry, Goddard pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

The 6-foot-1 Goddard is the conference leader in blocks (3.0), while ranking second in scoring (18.0) and eleventh in rebounding (7.1). This season, she has surpassed 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds.

Goddard was named the ASC East Division Preseason Player of the Year prior to the season and is a two-time All-Conference performer.

She is a graduate of Stroud High School where she was named an All-State Alternate, All-Region and All-Conference her senior season.

Ozarks (4-3, 2-2 ASC) will travel to Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University for conference games this weekend.
