Ryan Holt To Compete In NCAA III Cross Country Regional

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman cross country runner Ryan Holt will compete in the NCAA III South/Southeast Regional held in Newport News, Virginia, this weekend.

Christopher Newport University will host Saturday’s regional, which will consist of more than 30 NCAA III teams and over 200 runners. The 8K race will be on the Lee Hall Mansion course and will start at 12:30 p.m.

Holt, from Belfast, Ireland, is coming off a second-place finish at the American Southwest Conference championship November 2 after running a 26:49.68 in the 8K race. For his performance, he made the All-Conference First Team and earned ASC Freshman of the Year honors. Holt, who has been the team’s top finisher in each of Ozarks’ five races, was named ASC Runner of the Week four times this year. He has posted two individual titles this season.

At the NCAA III regional, the top-35 runners are named All-Region. The national championships will be held in Hanover, Indiana, November 23.
