Abilene, Texas-U of O men?s cross country runner Ryan Holt finished second at the American Southwest Conference Championships Saturday in Abilene, Texas, and was named ASC Freshman of the Year and All-Conference.
Holt, from Belfast, Ireland, posted a 26:49.68 in the 8K race en route to earning All-Conference First Team honors. Matt Friant placed 15th overall with a 28:47.95, just missing All-Conference honors by one spot. Calvin Jones placed 56th with a time of 33:47.89. Robert Elder was 59th running a 34:03.93. 67. Trevor Lister was 67th running a 37:14.84, while Max Hilgendorf was 70th with a 37:56.55 time and Sam Binns placed 71st with a 38:07.87 time.
As a team, Ozarks finished sixth overall. Texas-Tyler won the men’s team title and Nicklas Huff from Texas-Tyler won his second straight individual conference title.
The NCAA III regional is November 16 at Christopher Newport University in Virginia.
