RTV students, faculty attend Hot Springs film festival

Several students and faculty members from University of the Ozarks' RTV program attended the 23rd annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival this past weekend.

Those who attended were, (from left) KUOZ Executive Producer Alix Tiegs, Assistant Professor of Communication Dr. Rhonda Shook, Director of Broadcasting Susan Edens, and KUOZ Producer Ryan West. The group attended ethics workshops and filmmaking forums by such dignitaries as Gordon Quinn, Joey Lauren Adams, and George Takei.

Quinn is artistic director and founding member of Kartemquin Films and a 2007 recipient of the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. Adams is an actor, director, and producer who appeared in Dazed and Confused, Big Daddy, and Mall Rats and starred in Chasing Amy. Takei is an Internet sensation and gay rights activist who is famous for starring as Mr. Sulu in the original Star Trek series.
