Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore pitcher Amber Rollins set a school record with 15 strikeouts in a 5-0 shutout victory against Ecclesia College Tuesday afternoon.

The right-hander from Searcy, Ark., had co-owned the single-game record of 12 with Dana Marvin, but broke the mark in the fifth inning when she fanned her thirteenth batter. She would go on and strikeout another in the sixth and one more in the seventh to finish with 15. Rollins walked just one and allowed only three hits to move her season record to 10-7. Rollins has accumulated 304 career strikeouts at Ozarks.

The Lady Eagles (14-22) provided Rollins with a run in the first behind an RBI single from Tori Lemieux. Miah Williams crossed the plate after leading off the bottom of the first with a triple. Ozarks scored again in the third on a Molly Bowman RBI double. Williams added her own RBI in the fourth and then Rollins helped her own cause with a RBI in the fifth. Bowman posted Ozarks’ fifth run of the game later in the inning.

Williams finished 3-for-4.

Ozarks posted a 13-10 game two win behind another ten-hit attack.

The Lady Eagles controlled the game early scoring six runs in the first frame to take a 6-0 lead. Ozarks would collect three hits, with Sheridan Barajas and Tabitha McClane each highlighting the outburst by driving in two runs. After Ecclesia (4-27) cut the deficit to 7-4 after three complete innings, the Lady Eagles put two runs on the board in the fourth, fifth and sixth. Lemieux and Barajas had two-run hits in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively.

Starter Whitney Price (2-7) received the win.
