Ricky Herrera Named To NSCAA All-Region Team

Clarksville, Ark.-Ricky Herrera was named to the men's soccer 2003 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Central Region Third Team, announced by the national office on Tuesday.

Herrera, a 5-10, 160-pound senior forward from Las Cruces, New Mexico, was also a member of the third team last season. Herrera was one of only five conference players named to one of the four All-Region squads. During his career at Ozarks, he was a four-time all-conference performer and a two-time Academic All-American while leading the Eagles (13-8-1) to their first American Southwest Conference title and the school’s first-ever NCAA championship appearance this season. He finished second on the team in goals (10) and points (24) this season. He is the school’s all-time leader in goals (54), career games played (83) and career game-winning goals (14). He ranks second in career points (128) and fourth in career assists (17). He led his team to a conference-best 59-24-2 record over the last four seasons while helping the Eagles appear in four consecutive conference tournaments. Herrera, a Business Administration major who will graduate in May, is a three-time ASC All-Academic honoree and a 2000 graduate of Las Cruces High School.
