Clarksville, Ark.-Senior guard Reggie Brasfield was named American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week following his performance in the Eagles' last two games.
Brasfield, a 5-8, 170-pound native of Gould, averaged 14.5 points while shooting 9-of-13 (69%) from three-point range against Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. Brasfield hit 4-of-5 three-pointers and scored 12 points while dishing out three assists in a 85-70 win over Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday. Brasfield then scored 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from three-point land in a 95-93 loss to McMurry on Monday night. Brasfield has hit 13-of-23 treys (56%) in four games this season. He has started in each of the Eagles’ four games this season and currently ranks second on the team in scoring (12.5) and is the team leader in three-pointers made (13) and three-point percentage (56%). He finished tenth in the conference in three-point percentage (37%) and ranked second on the team in three-pointers made (28) last season.
