Quick Start Pushes Ozarks Past Hendrix

Clarksville, Ark.- The Eagles scored three goals in the first 30 minutes of the match and cruised to a 4-1 win over Hendrix College on Sunday at Hurie Field.

Dylan Evans got things going for Ozarks (2-0-0) as he blasted in a shot in the third minute. Ryan Cooper added a goal in the 11th minute, and Matt Engelman nailed a penalty kick in the 30th minute to give Ozarks a comfortable 3-0 advantage. The Warriors (1-1-0) added a goal in the 35th minute when Tom Robbins connected on a penalty kick. The physical inter-state rivals saw a combined 10 fouls in the first half. Evans would strike again, this time coming in the 52nd minute on a perfect cross from Cooper.
    
Evans had three shots to lead the team. Joseph Lokang and Engelman also recorded assists in the match. Brian Sarber secured four saves.
    
Ozarks will travel to Sewanee, Tennessee, for the Kyle Rote, Jr. Invitational next weekend. Ozarks will face University of the South September 5 at 7:30 p.m. Ozarks will face Birmingham Southern September 7 at 12:00 p.m.

Game Notes:
-Ozarks in now 10-4-1 all-time against Hendrix College.
-The 4-1 win was the largest margin of victory for Ozarks since the 2001 season when the Eagles beat the Warriors 6-1.
-It was the third multiple-goal game for Dylan Evans in his career. Evans scored twice in a game his freshman season and had a hat trick last year.
-Both Matt Engelman and Ryan Cooper each had a goal and an assist in the match, marking the second time each has accomplishment that feat in their career.
