Clarksville, Ark.-Freshman right-hander Freddy Prince threw a three-hitter Tuesday night to lead Ozarks to a 3-1 win over Hendrix College and helped the Eagles snap 15-game losing skid.

Prince tossed a seven-inning complete game and did not allow an earned run. He struck out two and issued three walks in the win. Jake West ripped a double down the left field line in the third inning and later stole third base and scored on a throwing error. Hendrix (14-18) evened the score in the bottom half of the inning, but Ozarks (6-28) took the lead for good on Nick Brill’s sacrifice RBI in the fourth. Arturo Perez gave Prince an insurance run with an RBI single in the fifth.

Ozarks totaled six hits.

Prince improves to 1-2.

Ozarks won the nightcap 4-3 behind a three-run first inning. Four hits and two Hendrix errors fueled the Eagles big first inning. Mitchell Powers had an RBI single in the first and Perez had an RBI bunt in the fifth to give Ozarks a 4-1 lead. Relief pitcher Bo Thomas was inserted in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and only one out. Hendrix scored once against Thomas, who picked up his first save of the season, but the freshman forced a couple of ground balls to end the inning.

Jeffrey Works (1-1) went five and one-third innings to receive the win.

Kurt Shemanske went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Ozarks will host Central Baptist College April 15.
