Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks junior outfielder Freddy Prince was named the Hitter of the Night in the Texas Collegiate League for his performance June 11.
Prince, who plays for the Acadiana Cane Cutters, went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in a win over the Victoria Generals. In nine games for Acadiana, Prince is hitting .200 in 25 at-bats.
Prince, a native of Jonesboro, Ark., won the American Southwest Conference batting title in 2013 with a .406 average. He was named All-Conference and All-Region following the 2013 season.
The Cane Cutters are 5-7 this season and compete against the Woodlands Strykers, Texas Marshals, East Texas Pump Jacks, Victoria Generals and Brazos Valley Bombers.
