Clarksville, Ark. --- Members of the University of the Ozarks' Phi Beta Lambda team took home 10 first-place finishes and numerous other top-five finishes in the 2010 Arkansas PBL State Leadership Conference, held in Little Rock April 8-11.
The U of O students who took first place in the state-wide competition included, Katie Niskern (Organizational Behavior); Zyanya Sanchez (Strategic Management); Phillip Johnson and Jessica Pate (Community Service Report); Marcos Melendez and Tony Fernandez (Business Decision Making); Delsie Ku (Computer Applications); Marcos Melendez (Economics Analysis and Decision Making); Myra Hoch, Phuong Do and Eric Carles (Emerging Business Issues); Gracia Velasquez (Future Business Teacher); Joey Hughes, Laura Hoffman and Amy Wanaphotimuke (Network Design); and Susan Low, Amy Wanaphotimuke and Lay Hong Yap (Small Business Management Plan).
In addition, the U of O team took home 16 second-place finishes and 13 third-place awards on its way to 65 total awards in the event. All of the top-three finishers are eligible to compete in the PBL National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn., this summer.
