Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Tyler built a 1-0 halftime lead and then scored two more goals to earn a 3-0 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference play Thursday.
The Patriots (9-2-1, 8-1-1 ASC) got a goal in the 34th minute from Jose Morteo. Texas-Tyler had eight corner kicks in the first half and totaled 16 shots. The Patriots took a 2-0 lead in the 49th minute with another goal and later added an insurance goal in the 68th minute. Ozarks goalkeeper Neil Thompson had five of his eight saves in the second half. Ozarks (4-11-0, 3-8-0 ASC) had trouble creating any offensive opportunities as they recorded just one corner kick in the match.
Ozarks will face Concordia University Texas October 23 in Austin, Texas.
