Ozarks Wins Big Over Louisiana College

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles (2-9-0, 2-4-0) gained an easy 7-0 shutout against Louisiana College (0-11-0, 0-7-0).

Ember Smith led the Lady Eagles’ offensive charge with four goals and eight shots. Smith scored the match’s first goal in the 39th minute. A Jessalyn Halsted goal just before halftime gave Ozarks a 2-0 lead at intermission. Smith then scored three more in the second half and Halsted added her second of the game to give Ozarks their first shutout of the season. The Lady Eagles recorded 16 shots on goal, with ten different players tallying at least one shot. Ozarks accumulated a season-high 25 shots in the victory. The defense held Louisiana College to just one shot. Goalkeeper Carrie Rogers recorded her first career shutout. The Lady Eagles now own an all-time record of 8-1-0 against the Lady Wildcats. Ozarks will host Mississippi College tomorrow. The women’s game is set for 1 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m.
