Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men?s and women?s tennis teams posted impressive wins against NAIA John Brown University Wednesday in Siloam Springs.

The Lady Eagles won their second straight match 6-3. The Eagles were dominant with a 9-0 victory.

“I am very proud of how both teams are continuing to develop,” said head coach Shaun Wiseman.
“This has been a very productive fall and we hope to carry this momentum into the Spring.”

The Lady Eagles were coming off a 6-3 win over Hendrix College.

“Elly Eibes looked dominate again at No. 2 and Whitney Lewis continues to impress me at No. 1 singles," he said. "In doubles, Tara Richards and Chelsea Glasscock continue to win using hard work and court smarts that you would expect out of a couple veteran senior players. Kalli Simpson is also reaping the benefits of a summer full of hard work in getting another victory this Fall.”

The John Brown match wrapped up the fall season for the Eagles.

“On the men’s side, I was very impressed with Corey Dillard and his willingness to scrap for every point,” he said. “He beat a quality opponent last night and put on a clinic doing so. I am very proud of his hard work. He has definitely earned his nickname which is an adaptation of ‘the little engine that could.’ Bishop Bass and Todd Turner both continued their dominance over other Arkansas Schools, and I was also pleased with the efficiency in which Michael Skimbo went about his work.”

The Lady Eagles will travel to Russellville to play Henderson State University October 10.
