Ozarks Sweeps Mary Hardin Baylor And Concordia

Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O Eagles (5-2, 0-0) won their fourth consecutive game with a win over University of Concordia-Austin on December 7.

The Eagles defeated University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 91-88 in Belton, Texas on December 5. The Eagles needed a jumper by sophomore guard V.J. Akers with 2 seconds remaining to pull out a 81-79 victory over Concordia. Akers, who scored eight points in the game, hit a jumper in the lane to give Ozarks their fourth consecutive win. Mandrell Howell again led the team in scoring with 25 points. Michael Bollman, who shot six of eight from the field, had 15 points. After trailing 43-40 at halftime to Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Eagles rode the hot three-point shooting of Ricky Johnson. Johnson, who hit six of seven three-pointers in the game, nailed four three-pointers in the second half to lift the Eagles to a win. Johnson finished with a game high 25 points. Howell added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Bollman scored 20 points.
