Ozarks Suffers Loss To Choctaws

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles suffered a loss to Mississippi College on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action in Clinton, Mississippi.

The Eagles are now tied for third place in the East Division along with East Texas Baptist. Louisiana College is in second place with a 5-3 record. UT-Dallas stands atop the league standings with a 6-2 conference mark. The Eagles (7-11, 4-3) dropped a 83-70 decision to Mississippi College (12-7, 4-4) on Saturday. The Eagles were unable to cool off a hot shooting Choctaw squad that shot 54 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line in the second half. With the score notched at 36-36 at halftime, the Choctaws slowly built a a double digit lead in the second half and gave Ozarks their third conference loss of the season. Three players scored in double figures with Joyner leading the team with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Mike Taylor and Geoff Owens each had 12 points. The Lady Eagles and Eagles host Louisiana College on Thursday and Mississippi College on Saturday.
