Clarksville, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team remained perfect on the season while going 2-0 at the prestigious Kyle Rote Jr. Invitational over the weekend in Sewanee, Tenn.
On Sunday against Birmingham Southern, Ozarks gained a 3-1 win after earning a 2-1 win over regionally-ranked Sewanee on Friday.
Shaun Renfro scored the match’s first goal in the 42nd minute on an assist from Anthony Santoro. With the Eagles leading 1-0, Birmingham Southern (1-3-0) scored eleven seconds into the second half. Ozarks (4-0-0) answered with a Ryan Cooper goal in the 65th minute. Matt Engelman received the assist. Brandon Pierson then followed with a goal in the 80th minute to make it 3-1. Guido Salas had the assist. Salas had five of Ozarks’ 15 shots.
Ozarks will travel to Searcy to face Harding University September 13.
