Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O women's team increased their chances of making a second straight trip to the playoffs with a 79-70 win over conference foe University of Texas-Dallas on Saturday.

SThe Lady Eagles got strong inside play from Christie Shuffield and Thomas against UTD.huffield, who was 8 of 8 from the field, had several nice moves in the first half to help Ozarks hold a 48-39 advantage at halftime. The Lady Eagles held a steady ten-point lead throughout the half and gained a 36-26 lead after a Melissa Spears three-pointer. “Traditionally we’ve had trouble winning at UTD,” said head coach Jack Jones. “I was really proud of the girls because they rose to the occasion. Our post players really played well.” UTD would cut the lead to 66-62 with seven minutes left in the game, but the Lady Eagles’ inside play was too much for the Lady Comets. “We’ve got an opportunity to accomplish two major things this week,” said Jones. “We can finish the season undefeated at home and win the conference title. It’s a situation where we control our own destiny.” Shuffield and Thomas scored 20 points apiece while Jenna Corbell scored 14 points.
