Ozarks Hands Williams Baptist 8-0 Loss

Clarksville, Ark.--The Eagles won their first match of the season in grand fashion as they shutout Williams Baptist College 8-0 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Ozarks (1-2-0, 0-0-0) dominated from the start and ended the contest out shooting Williams Baptist (0-1-0) 37-4. The Eagles got five goals from five different players in the first half to hold a 5-0 lead after 45 minutes of play. Lars Nyberg started the offensive explosion with a header off a feed from Ron Hogsett in the 6th minute. Jared Gordon would score in the 7th minute to give Ozarks a quick 2-0 lead. Hogsett followed Gordon with a goal of his own in the 23rd minute to increase the Eagles advantage to 3-0. Josh Carrasco scored his first collegiate goal in the 31st minute and Ryan Skelly added his third goal of the season in the 36th minute to give Ozarks a comfortable halftime lead. Gordon struck again in the second half at the 55:34 mark on a pass from Tommy Trimble. Darren Clark and Jason Caskey both scored their first goals as a collegiate to the finish the game with an 8-0 victory. Ozarks had 15 shots on goal in the game. Hogsett led the team with seven shots. Goalkeeper Chris Schultz did not record a save in 45 minutes of play. Jeffrey Enevoldsen recorded two saves in his 45 minutes of game time. The Eagles will host Hendrix College on September 7 at 4 p.m.
