Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles (4-11-0, 4-6-0) recorded their second conference shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over Concordia-Austin (1-9-0, 1-9-0).
Ozarks now has four conference wins, the most since 1998. The Lady Eagles won big in the shots column, out shooting the Tornados 26-3 in the match. Nine different players recorded shots in the contest. Ember Smith and Lindsey Turnbow each had goals in the first half to give Ozarks a 2-0 advantage. Smith scored her sixth goal of the season in the 5th minute on a pass from Lacey Howard. Turnbow then added a goal in the 20th minute on a feed from Smith. Jessalyn Halsted gave Ozarks their final goal when she scored in the 69th minute. Marissa Andrade was credited with the assist. Lindy Swatzell led the team with 10 shots. Ozarks will host Mary Hardin-Baylor tomorrow in an afternoon designated as “Senior Day.” Nine seniors will be honored prior to the start of the men’s game. The ceremony is set to start at 3 p.m. for both the men and women. Women’s play is set for 1 p.m.
