Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, to face Rhodes College on Wednesday and came away winless in the opening game of the season.

The Lynx (1-0-0) escaped defeat for the second time in as many years with a 3-2 come-from-behind overtime victory over the reigning American Southwest Conference champions. Rhodes was the first to strike as a Ken Bode goal went in the net in the ninth minute. Ozarks, however, would tie the match on a Ryan Skelly goal in the 25th minute. Will Brahic received the assist. The Eagles would take the lead in the 54th minute when Justin Goodman scored on a pass from Ron Hogsett. Goodman’s goal gave the Eagles breathing room for most of the second half until Bode struck again in the 87th minute to even the contest at 2-2. The hard fought contest ended when Nick Frankel drilled a shot in overtime. The Lynx also made a comeback in last year’s match in Clarksville when they gained a 3-2 win after falling behind 2-0. Goalkeeper Chris Schultz had a standout game recording seven saves. Jared Gordon led the squad with two shots. Ozarks will host Oklahoma City University on September 3 in their home opener at 4 p.m.
