Clarksville, Ark.--The Eagles dropped their match against Austin College on Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play at Hurie Soccer Field.
The Eagles (5-6-0, 2-3-0) started the match strong, but were unable to pull out a win as conference nemesis Austin College (5-2-2, 3-1-1) gained a 1-0 victory over the home team. Ozarks accumulated six shots in the first half while holding the Kangaroos to just three. Kangaroos’ substitute Adam Kiefer scored the game’s only goal in the 38th minute. Justin Goodman had five shots for Ozarks. The Eagles haven’t quite lived up to expectations as they fall into the bottom half of the league standings at the midway point of conference play. Only the top six teams in the fourteen-team league earn spots in the playoffs. Ozarks will host Louisiana College on October 8.
