Ozarks Drops Austin College Match

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's soccer team made a valiant second half comeback, but it wasn't enough to pull off an upset as Austin College took a 3-1 victory in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday in Sherman, Texas.

The Lady Kangaroos (4-4-1, 3-1-1) scored a goal in the 18th minute to take a 1-0 advantage. Another Austin College goal in the 37th minute had the Lady Kangaroos in control of the match going into halftime. However, Ozarks (0-8-0, 0-4-0) stormed out in the second half and scored in the 58th minute on a Mandi Carter goal to make the score 2-1. Kate Schoenhals received the assist. A Lady Kangaroos goal in the 88th minute put the match out of reach for Ozarks. ????? Goalkeeper Jessica Falls recorded eight saves in the match, with seven of those coming in the first half. ????? Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Mississippi, to face Mississippi College on October 7 and Pineville, Louisiana, to face Louisiana College on October 8.
