Ozarks Defeats McMurry 4-2

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team defeated McMurry University 4-2 in American Southwest Conference play on Friday afternoon in Abilene, Texas.

Jason Caskey came off the bench and scored twice in the first half. It was Matt Engelman, however, that got Ozarks (7-4-1, 4-2-0) on the board first when he scored off a corner kick in the 15th minute. Ryan Skelly received the assist. Caskey’s first goal came in the 31st minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 advantage. Darren Clark received the assist. After McMurry (1-10-0, 1-6-0) scored in the 38th minute to make the score 2-1, Caskey struck again three minutes later to push Ozarks’ lead to 3-1 at halftime. Skelly received the assist. Jared Gordon scored the match’s final goal in the 66th minute. The Eagles out shot the Indians 11-8 in the first half and 8-6 in the second half. Caskey had a team-best 4 shots. Brian Sarber and Jeffrey Enevoldsen split time in goal, with Sarber recording 1 save and Enevoldsen recording 4. Ozarks takes on defending ASC champion Hardin-Simmons on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
