Clarksville, Ark.--Ouachita Baptist handed Ozarks a pair of losses in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon in Arkadelphia.
Ozarks (6-17-1, 3-13) suffered from two key errors in the first inning of the opening game as Ouachita scored all seven of their runs in that inning in route to a 7-1 victory. Starting pitching Chanceree Catlett then gave up only two hits the rest of the way, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Tigers held the Lady Eagles to one run the contest. Ozarks score came in the fourth inning when Jeanne Randall doubled in Brooke Grice, who had reached on a single. Both teams had six hits apiece. Ozarks stranded eight runners on base. Grice went 2-for-4 to lead Ozarks. Catlett (2-10) had four strikeouts in the loss. In game two, the Lady Tigers blanked Ozarks 6-0, but only out hit the Lady Eagles 8-6 in the contest. Ouachita scored once in the first, three in the third and added two more in the fifth to complete a sweep of Ozarks. Grice led the squad with two hits. Dana Marvin (4-6) had five strikeouts in the loss. Ozarks will host East Texas Baptist University in a four-games series April 8-9.
