Clarksville, Ark.-Olivia Fisher was named to the American Southwest Conference All-East division freshman team, which was voted upon by the league's 16 head coaches and announced by the league office on Monday.
Fisher of Mountain Home finished second in the league in rebounding (9.5) and twelfth in scoring (13.0). Fisher, 6-1, led the team in rebounding and field goal percentage (46.2) while ranking second in free throw percentage (74.2) and scoring. She recorded eight double-doubles this season and scored 20 or more points six times. Fisher’s best performance of the year came against LeTourneau when she scored 35 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. "Olivia gave us an inside presence this season," said U of O head women’s coach Kelly Stutz. "She can run the floor and has great athletic ability. She is also able to finish with either hand. But I think her best attribute is her strong work ethic and her willingness to put in the extra time." "We struggled this season because of a lack of experience, but I have to give the girls a lot of credit because they tried to get better on a daily basis," said Stutz. "We did improve down the stretch and we beat two teams that had beat us earlier in the season. We will carry as much momentum into next season as a four win team can have." The Lady Eagles (4-21, 4-18) finished seventh in the conference.
