Tyler, Texas-No. 2 Texas-Tyler posted a pair of shutouts over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference softball action Friday afternoon.
Texas-Tyler (34-2, 21-1 ASC) took a 4-0 win in game one and then scored a 15-0 game two victory to sweep the Lady Eagles (14-24, 4-18 ASC).
In game one, Ozarks held the Patriots scoreless through four and one-third innings, but the home team plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the bottom of the sixth. Ozarks starter Amber Rollins allowed only two hits over the first four frames. The Lady Eagles recorded three hits in the contest. Ali Mathis went 2-for-3. Rollins (10-8) suffered the loss.
Texas-Tyler came back in game two and threw another three-hitter in a run-rule victory. Leading 2-0 after one, the Patriots put the game out of reach with nine runs in the second.
Ozarks will conclude its season tomorrow with a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
