Pine Bluff, Ark- NCAA Division I UA-Pine Bluff scored in the third minute and then scored in the opening moments of the second half to hold off the Lady Eagles 3-0 Wednesday night in Pine Bluff.
The Lions (1-6-0) held a 1-0 halftime lead, but then extended its advantage to 2-0 after scoring in the 46th minute. Ozarks (0-4-0) had a strong first half recording seven shots. MaKenna Piha and Haley Gilliam each had shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of play. The Lady Eagles had a more difficult time generating offense in the second half and allowed another goal in the 73rd minute.
Piha had six shots, with three of those on frame.
Mary Eoff had eight saves.
Ozarks will travel to Siloam Springs to face John Brown University September 8.
