Men’s Tennis Team Downs Austin College

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's tennis team defeated Austin College 7-2 in non-conference action Friday, while the women's team fell 8-1 to the visitors.

The Eagles won all but one singles match Friday. Keith Edwards defeated Nate Navey (7-5, 6-7, 6-1), Brandon Carlson defeated Trace Cochran (6-1, 6-3), Brett Spahn defeated Zack Bengston (6-0, 6-0), Tyler Wilson defeated Daniel Leal (6-1, 4-6, 6-3) and Aaron Alderman defeated Eric Gordon (6-4, 6-3). In doubles play, Carlson and Michael Laws picked up a 8-2 victory and Wilson and Mike Slider won 8-6.

In women’s action, Brittany Hein won her singles match over Kate Bailey (6-3, 6-2).

Ozarks will open their American Southwest Conference slate against Louisiana College March 6 in Pineville, La.
