Men’s Soccer Team Drops Louisiana College

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles scored three first half goals to upend Louisiana College 4-0 in ASC play at Pineville, Louisiana, on Saturday.

The Eagles first score came on a shot by Ryan Skelly. Hogsett received the assist. Ozarks added another score when Hogsett ripped his eighth goal of the season. The Eagles weren’t finished though as Josh Carrasco scored to make the advantage 3-0 at halftime. Hogsett received his second assist of the match on Carrasco’s goal. The Eagles ended the first half with 12 shots. The match’s final goal came when Gordon connected on a shot in the second half. Wilson Jones received the assist. Ozarks finished the match with a 21-8 shot advantage. Louisiana College (1-11-0, 0-7-0) had only two shots in the first half. Sarber started the match and played 45 minutes. He finished with three saves. Jeffrey Enevoldsen played the final 45 minutes. "We are excited with the wins against Mississippi College and Louisiana College," said head coach Dave De Hart. "We performed very well defensively. Anytime you don’t allow too many goals, you give yourself a chance to win. Right now our defense is real strong and playing real well." "All of our guys are on the same page and working towards the same goal. Our team unity and effort is strong. We have a high resolve to be successful as a group. I’m pleased with how guys have stepped up and played different positions and done well. We need to continue to get better each week. Every time we go into a match, I feel like we were better than we were the previous match." Ozarks will host Hardin-Simmons University on October 14 and McMurry University on October 15. Both matches start at 1:00 p.m.
