Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 score against Hendrix College on Wednesday afternoon, the first tie in thirteen matches between the two teams.
<#IMAGE:1#>Both teams had opportunities to score on numerous possessions, but each goalkeeper made several nice saves to keep the match tied after 110:00 minutes of play. Ozarks keeper Brian Sarber came up with the game’s biggest save when he batted away a Hendrix penalty kick in the first overtime. Sarber finished with 6 saves in the match. Hendrix keeper Kyle Beene totaled 7 saves. It was the second shutout of the season for Ozarks. The Eagles (1-1-1, 0-0-0) out shot the Warriors (1-1-0, 0-0-0) 20-9. Jared Gordon, Ryan Skelly and Brandon VanCleave each had 4 shots. Ozarks’ all-time record against Hendrix moves to 8-4-1. Ozarks will host Bacone College Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in non-conference play before beginning American Southwest Conference action against University of Texas-Tyler on September 15.
