Men’s Cross Country Team Receives All-Conference Honors

Clarksville, Ark.- Men's cross country runners Jeremy Provence, Tristan Cooper, David James and Matthew Friant were named to the 2011 American Southwest Conference All-Conference Team after finishing among the top-14 runners at the ASC championships held October 29 in Seguin, Texas.

Provence, who finished second overall in the 8K with a time of 25:54.19 earned All-ASC First Team honors. Cooper followed with a time of 26:42.35 for a fifth-place finish to also earn All-ASC First Team honors. James ran a 26:50.06, which placed him seventh overall and again earned him All-ASC First Team honors. Friant was tenth in the race with a time of 27:07.78 and earned All-ASC Second Team honors. Additionally, senior Zach Doty was named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.

University of Texas at Tyler won the men’s championship with 22 points. Ozarks placed second (52 pts.) and McMurry finished third (84 pts.). 14 teams participated in the race.

The Eagles will again go to Seguin, Texas, for the NCAA III South/Southeast regional November 12.
