Clarksville, Ark.-McMurry University scored a pair of second half goals to open up a 1-0 halftime lead en route to a 3-0 win over the Lady Eagles Thursday in American Southwest Conference action.
McMurry (2-4-0, 1-2-0 ASC) scored in the 4th minute to gain momentum early in the match. Neither team would score in the remaining minutes of the first half. Ozarks (2-6-0, 1-2-0 ASC) had its chances in the first half, recording six shots and four corner kicks, but couldn’t connect of those attempts. McMurry added a goal in the 75th minute and another in the 85th minute to secure the match. Ozarks was again on the attack in the second half, tallying eight shots, and finished the match holding a 14-8 shots advantage. In the 81st minute, Alex Cannon had a would-be goal that goalkeeper MaKenzie Hargrove made a diving save to maintain the shutout.
Cannon finished with eight shots.
Ozarks will host Hardin-Simmons University Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The match can be heard on www.kxio.nu and locally on 106.9 FM.
