Clarksville, Ark.-Men's cross country runner Matt Friant received American Southwest Conference All-Conference Second Team honors after finishing among the top-14 runners at the ASC championships held October 27 in Clinton, Mississippi.
Friant, a junior from Conway, placed twelfth in the 8K race with a time of 27:18.89. It is the third straight year Friant has been among the top-14 runners at the ASC Championships. He was Ozarks’ top male finisher in each race this season. He was ASC Freshman of the Year in 2010 and is a three-time All-Conference Second Team honoree. Additionally, he has been on the ASC All-Academic Team twice.
Friant and the Eagles will head to Atlanta for the NCAA III South/Southeast Regional November 10.
