Maryville Hands Ozarks First Season Loss

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles (3-1-0, 0-0-0) were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Maryville College (2-1-0) on Saturday in Maryville, Tennessee.

Maryville, who finished first in the Great South Conference last season, used a goal in the 53rd minute to hand Ozarks their first loss of the season. The Eagles penetrated Maryville’s defense and took seven shots in the match, with five of those recorded as shots on goal. Ron Hogsett and Jared Gordon led the team with two shots. ????? Freshman goalkeeper Brain Sarber had nine saves. ????? Sarber notched his second win of the season and had one save. ????? Ozarks opens conference play on the road when they travel to Marshall, Texas, and Longveiw, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist on September 16 and LeTourneau University on September 17.
