Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks junior forward Marcus Bobb was named the American Southwest Conference Men?s Basketball East Division Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 2-0 week.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Bobb averaged 16 points, 10.5 rebounds, two steals and two blocks to help Ozarks to their first back-to-back wins of the season, including an 82-77 overtime win against East Texas Baptist. Bobb, a native of Ponder, Texas, had a 20-point, 15-rebound double-double against ETBU. He came back against Centenary College Saturday and missed just one shot while playing the entire 40 minutes. He shot a combined 55 percent from the field and committed just two turnovers over two games.
Bobb has posted four double-doubles this season and is averaging a double-double (17.4 points, 10.2 rebounds) over the last five games. He scored a season-high 35 points against Concordia University Texas January 7. He was named ASC All-East Division Honorable Mention last season.
Ozarks will host Louisiana College Thursday and Mississippi College Saturday.
