Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore forward Marcus Bobb was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by ASC Media Relations Director Greg Weghorst.
Bobb, a native of Ponder, Texas, posted back-to-back double doubles by averaging 18 points and 11.5 rebounds on the road against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Concordia Texas. Bobb also added three steals, three assists and two blocks. He shot 75 percent from the floor. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Bobb shot 6-of-7 from the floor against Mary Hardin-Baylor January 6 to pump in 16 points. He grabbed 10 rebounds in that game. On Saturday against Concordia University Texas, he scored 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
He ranks 18th in the ASC in scoring (12.2), seventh in rebounding (7.4) and is the league-leader in field goal percentage (63.0). He has posted three double-doubles this season and has scored in double figures nine times.
He is a graduate of Ponder High School where he was named All-State and All-District en route to leading the team to a state championship his senior season.
Ozarks will travel to Longview, Texas, to face LeTourneau University January 13.
