Mandi Carter Named ASC Player of the Week

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks junior center Mandi Carter was named the American Southwest Conference women's basketball East Division Player of the Week after leading the Lady Eagles to two straight league victories, including a 81-70 victory over No. 13-ranked Mississippi College.

Carter, a 6-1 native of Clarksville, averaged 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks to lead Ozarks to back-to-back ASC East Division wins to keep the Lady Eagles in contention for a spot in the conference playoffs. Carter shot 12-of-18 from the floor and scored 25 points while blocking three shots against Louisiana College, surpassing the 1,000-point career plateau in the win. Against Mississippi College, Carter scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had four steals. Carter now has 1,028 points and 566 rebounds for her Ozarks’ career. Carter ranks seventh in the ASC in field goal percentage (51%) and twelfth in scoring (14.2). Her 6.4 rebounds per game lead the team. She has scored in double figures in 18 games this season while accumulating three games of 20 or more points. Carter is a graduate of Clarksville High School where she was a three-time All-District performer.
