Lyon’s Late Home Run Lifts Visitors To Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Lyon College used a four-run tenth inning to secure a 10-6 win over the Eagles in a non-conference play on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles (9-13) fought back to tie the contest at 6-6 in the bottom of the eighth only to see the game slip away when Sam Cooke belted a three-run home run in the top of the tenth. Lyon (21-8) held a 5-2 lead after six innings of play before Ozarks scored one in the seventh and three in the eighth. In the eighth, Tad Turner doubled in two runs and Caleb Hilton singled in one. However, the Eagles would go scoreless over the final two innings of play. Brian Heckmann (0-4) received the loss. He pitched four and one-third innings. Tim Renshaw and Logan Kizer went 3-for-5.
