Clarksville, Ark.-Lyon College broke a 13-13 tie in the bottom of the eighth to secure a 16-13 win over the Eagles on Wednesday in Batesville.

With Lyon (25-11) leading 10-6 after the fifth, the Eagles (12-16) scored three runs in the sixth, but Ozarks then surrendered three runs in the bottom half of the inning to give Lyon a 13-9 advantage. Logan Kizer’s two-run single in the eighth tied the non-conference contest at 13-13. Lyon, however, would load the bases with one out and cash in all three base runners in the bottom half of the frame.

The Eagles recorded 18 hits in the game, while Lyon had 17. Seven Ozarks’ players had at least two hits. Kizer finished 3-for-5 and Tad Turner went 3-for-6. Kizer drove in four runs.

Travis Conner got the start and went four and one-third innings. He struck out five. Kizer (0-1) suffered the loss.

The Eagles will host Louisiana College April 3 and April 4. Saturday’s double-header can be heard on KXIO 106.9 FM and on the web at www.kxio.nu.
