Lyon College Wins Big Over Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.- Lyon College scored 18 runs in the first three innings of play to cruise to a 20-9 victory over the University of the Ozarks baseball team on Tuesday in Batesville.

<#IMAGE:1#>The score was tied 1-1 at the end of the first inning, but Lyon (3-0) exploded for seven runs in the second and ten runs in the third behind three home runs. The Eagles (0-2) came back to hold the Scots scoreless over the next two innings and added four runs on six hits in the fourth. Ozarks added four more in the sixth. Brad Broussard had a two-RBI single in the inning. The Eagles and Scots both finished with 17 hits apiece in the slugfest. Ozarks Bruce Cameron had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two RBI. He had a triple and a run. John Glenn went 3-for-4 with two runs. Broussard, Todd Koch, Cory Briggs, Jimmy Pannell and David Smith each had two hits. Freshman Freddy Flores (0-1) received the loss after pitching one and two-third innings. Ozarks will host Principia College on Saturday in a double-header beginning at 12:00 p.m.
