Clarksville, Ark.-Lyon College's Katie Marshall recorded a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Ozarks Tuesday afternoon at Hurie Field.
Ozarks (1-5-0) had trouble slowing down Marshall and her teammates as the Pipers (5-0-0) held a 3-0 lead at the half and a 13-0 shots advantage. Marshall scored back-to-back goals early in the first half to set the tone for Lyon College. In the first half Ozarks’ goalkeeper Lori Langman made a leaping save off of Katy Smith’s shot to keep the Pipers from scoring another goal.
Lyon College added three more goals in the second half, one of which came from Marshall in the 61st minute, while Ozarks did not manufacture a shot in the entire match.
Langman had 13 saves.
Ozarks will begin American Southwest Conference play in a road match against UT-Dallas September 19.
