Louisiana College Slips Past Lady Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.-Louisiana College edged past the Lady Eagles 4-2 and 3-0 in Saturday?s American Southwest Conference double-header in Pineville, Louisiana.

In game one, Louisiana College (15-1, 6-0 ASC) overcame a 1-0 deficit and scored three runs in the fourth inning. Kelsey Stephens blasted a solo home run to put the Lady Eagles in front 1-0. The Lady Wildcats later scored once in the sixth to hold a 4-1 advantage. Ozarks did rally for one run in the top of the seventh, but that would be all it could generate.

Heather Roberts went 2-for-3 for Ozarks. Amber Rollins (6-7) took the loss.

In game two, the Lady Wildcats produced a run in the third, fourth and sixth innings and then held Ozarks scoreless through seven to earn the shutout.

Ozarks had five hits in the contest and had runners in scoring position in the first, second and third innings only to see Louisiana College keep the Lady Eagles off the board.

Rollins received the loss.

Ozarks will host Mississippi College in a four-game series March 23-24.
