Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles fell 62-54 in American Southwest Conference action against Louisiana College on Thursday night.

The Lady Eagles (7-12, 3-5) nearly overcame a sloppy first half performance in which they shot just 4-of-26 (15%) from the field, but were unable to comeback from a 30-21 deficit at intermission. Ozarks, however, did make an impressive run in the second half behind the play of forward Kate Byrd. Byrd scored 14 second half points, including Ozarks last three field goals of the game. Byrd’s jumper with 1:12 left cut the deficit to 57-54. However, Louisiana College’s Susan Conway nailed a three-pointer with 31 seconds to seal the win. Byrd led the squad with a season-high 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor. Mandi Carter followed with 12 points and Jamie Johnson added 10 points. The Lady Eagles and Eagles host Mississippi College on February 7.
