Clarksville, Ark LeTourneau University erased a 33-23 halftime deficit using a 15-4 run to open the second half in a 68-58 win over the Eagles Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.

The Eagles (8-15, 6-12 ASC) maintained control of the latter part of the first half and went ahead 25-16 behind Blake Mitchem’s shot at the 9:31 mark. After LeTourneau (10-13, 9-10 ASC) narrowed it to 25-21, Mitchem hit another shot and Jerard McGinty drilled a three-pointer to give the Eagles a nine-point advantage. Ozarks shot a solid 14-of-29 (48.3%) in the first half to hold a 10-point intermission lead.

The second half belonged to the YellowJackets, especially early on when it hit five of its first seven shots. LeTourneau increased its lead to 49-42 on a three-pointer, but Ozarks would carve out a 4-0 run to get closer at the 11:09 mark. The YellowJackets later built a 55-48 advantage with 7:25 remaining. But Jessie Raglin scored on a layup and McGinty followed with a three-pointer to make it 55-53. Andre Williams tied it when he hit an outside jumper with 6:17 left. But Ozarks would go cold, scoring only three more points in the final six minutes of the contest.

Mitchem ended with 20 points and nine rebounds. Williams had 12 points and McGinty finished with 11.

Ozarks will end the season against East Texas Baptist University this Saturday.
