Clarksville, Ark.- LeTourneau University used a four-goal first half performance to earn a 6-3 victory over the University of the Ozarks women's soccer team on Friday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play.
<#IMAGE:1#>LeTourneau (10-6-2, 8-3-1) scored early in the match on an Angie Muszynski goal in the 4th minute. Ozarks (7-9-2, 4-8-0) quickly answered with a goal in the 6th minute when Heather Dryden beat the visiting keeper. Laura Spruiell assisted on the goal. LeTourneau would record back-to-back goals to increase their advantage to 3-1. Both teams would score one more time in the half to make the score 4-2. Emalee Pearson scored for Ozarks in the 32nd minute on an assist from Spruiell. LeTourneau came out firing in the second half, scoring in the 40th and 66th minute. Kristyn Shinn added a goal in the 78th minute. Savannah Munger received the assist. Ozarks had 11 shots, with Heather Dryden recording a team-best 5. Ozarks keeper Olivia Fisher had 9 saves. Ozarks will finish the season tomorrow against East Texas Baptist University. The match is designated as “Senior Day” as seniors Mandi Carter and Ember Smith will be honored prior to the men’s match.
