Clarksville, Ark.-LeTourneau University squeaked out a 8-7 win over the University of the Ozarks baseball team thanks to a game-winning Ryan Cook solo home run in the top of the seventh in Friday's American Southwest Conference game.

Ozarks drops to 14-17 overall and 5-8 in the ASC while LeTourneau moves to 10-17 overall and 5-8 in the league play. LeTourneau started the game with a four-run first inning, but Ozarks slowly climbed back into the contest with a three-run first and a two-run second. Trailing 6-4 after two, Robby Finnell homered in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit to one. It was Finnell’s fourth homer of the year. The YellowJackets answered with a run in the top of the fourth to push their advantage to 7-5. The Eagles would add one run in both the fifth and sixth. Tim Renshaw collected an RBI single in the fifth and Caleb Hilton would record an RBI in the sixth to tie the score at 7-7. But Cook’s homer proved to be the enough as Ozarks’ offense went scoreless in the final three innings. The YellowJackets out hit the Eagles 15-10. Hilton, Finnell and Renshaw all had two hits in the game. Renshaw had a team-best 2 RBI. Chase Hale (2-3) suffered the loss after pitching five and two-third innings. He had six strikeouts. Hale was one of five Ozarks’ pitchers in the contest. Ozarks will continue their series with LeTourneau tomorrow in a double-header starting at 12:00 p.m.
