Clarksville, Ark.-Four of five LeTourneau starters scored in double figures as the YellowJackets handed the Eagles a 68-63 setback on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play.
The division battle remained close throughout the game, with LeTourneau (12-13, 9-11) clinging to a 60-57 lead with 3:57 left. A Tony Brock free throw with 2:39 remaining got Ozarks (8-16, 5-14) within 60-59, but that would be as close as they could get. The Eagles did cut it to 66-63 after a Tyler Mitchell free throw with 21 seconds left. An Ozarks foul with 18 seconds left sent LeTourneau to the line where they went 1-of-2, and padded their lead to four points.
LeTourneau forced Ozarks into 27 turnovers, and limited the Eagles to a 35 percent shooting percentage in the game. Chris Williams came off the bench to score a team-best 13 points. Habeeb Kareem added 10 points. Clint McHenry had 8 rebounds.
Ozarks will finish the season with a game against East Texas Baptist on Saturday.
