Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles tumbled to a 100-93 loss to LeTourneau University at Saturday afternoon's Hall of Fame game in Clarksville.
LeTourneau (2-11, 1-1) snapped the Eagles (5-9, 2-1) two-game ASC East Division win streak with a 100-93 victory thanks to a hot shooting night from behind the three-point arc. LeTourneau canned 12-of-28 (42%) three-pointers in the contest and controlled the second half after being notched at 44-44 at intermission. Ozarks held just one lead in the second half and was unable to stop a balanced LeTourneau scoring attack that saw four Yellow Jackets reached double figures. Ozarks did hit 7-of-15 (46%) three-pointers in the loss. Brent Johnson notched his third straight game in which he has scored at least twenty or more points. Johnson’s 23 points led the squad as did his 7 assists. Mike Taylor had 16 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Geoff Owens scored 12 points. The Lady Eagles and Eagles travel to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler in ASC action on January 22.
