Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles ninth inning rally against LeTourneau University was a little too late as the YellowJackets held on for a 6-4 victory in American Southwest Conference play on Thursday.
LeTourneau (10-19, 3-7) mounted a 6-0 advantage after seven complete innings, but the Eagles (15-16, 3-7) scored twice in the top of the eighth to cut it to 6-2. Todd Koch and Cory Briggs each picked up an RBI in the frame. In the ninth, the Eagles loaded the bases with one out, but were only able to score two. Curt Dixon (3-3) received the loss. He went eight innings, struck out six and gave up two earned runs. John Glenn finished 2-for-5 at the plate. Koch provided two RBI. The Eagles will take on LeTourneau Friday in a double-header beginning at 12:00 p.m.
